Overview

This policy explains how Yard Inspector handles personal information collected through this website and the Yard Inspector application.

Scope

This is the single master privacy policy for Yard Inspector. It applies to the marketing website at yardinspector.com, the web application at app.yardinspector.com, the Yard Inspector installable web app (PWA), and the Yard Inspector iOS and Android applications. Where those surfaces link to a privacy policy, they link to this page.

Information we collect

• Information you submit through forms, such as your name, email address, and message
• Account information used to create and sign in to your account, including your first name, email address, and a securely stored password credential
• Profile information made available through Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple when you choose one of those sign in methods, such as your name and email address
• Lawn profile details you enter during setup, such as location, watering habits, household information, lawn goal, and monthly product budget
• Lawn inspection inputs, including descriptions, locations, and photos you upload
• Results generated from what you submit, including grass identification, lawn condition and health analysis, treatment recommendations and treatment plans, and your scan history
• Saved preferences and settings you choose in the application
• Basic technical information such as browser or device type, operating system, approximate general location derived from what you enter, and pages or screens visited

How we use information

• To create and authenticate your account and keep you signed in
• To produce, store, and display your inspection results, plans, and scan history
• To identify your grass, assess lawn conditions, build treatment plans, and keep product suggestions within the budget you set
• To respond to support, privacy, or partnership requests
• To maintain security and improve the product

Accounts and authentication

You can create an account with an email address and password, or by using Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple. Authentication and account storage are provided by Supabase, our backend and authentication provider.

When you choose Sign in with Google, Yard Inspector receives only the basic account information needed to authenticate you and create or match your Yard Inspector account, such as your name, email address, and basic profile information made available through Google authentication. Yard Inspector does not request or access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google contacts, or any other data in your Google account. Sign in with Apple works the same way, and if you use Apple's private email relay we receive only the relay address.

We do not receive or store your Google or Apple password. Passwords for email accounts are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider.

Your information is tied to your account

Your profile, lawn details, photos, scans, scan history, analysis results, treatment information, and saved preferences are associated with your authenticated Yard Inspector account and are accessible to your signed in account. We do not make this information public or available to other users.

Cookies, local storage, and sessions

The application keeps you signed in using a persistent authentication session stored in your browser or device storage (for example local storage or a cookie set by our authentication provider). These are necessary for the service to work and cannot be turned off while you use an account. Clearing your browser or app storage signs you out.

Nonessential analytics and advertising technologies are not enabled unless configured. If they are added later, this policy will be updated and a consent mechanism will be presented before nonessential cookies are set.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information. Service providers who help operate the product may process information on our behalf under contract. The providers we currently rely on are:

• Supabase, for database, file storage, authentication, and backend functions
• Google and Apple, only when you choose their sign in option, for authentication
• Lovable, for building, hosting, and serving the website and application
• AI model providers, which process the photos and lawn details you submit in order to return identification, analysis, and treatment guidance

Product links

Product suggestions may link to retailers so you can find a recommended product. Yard Inspector does not sell or ship products. We do not currently participate in affiliate or commission programs, and this section will be updated if that changes.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

Information is retained while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete an individual scan from Scan history in the application, which also removes the photos submitted with that scan. Deleting your account from the Account page in the application permanently removes your account, lawn profile, scans, and photos.

You may also request access, correction, or deletion of your information by emailing support@yardinspector.com. We will verify that the request comes from the account holder before acting on it.

Data security

Information is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls that restrict account data to the signed in account. Passwords are stored in hashed form. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.

Where an address may be required

We intentionally do not publish a street address. A physical mailing address is only genuinely required in a few situations, and each should be reviewed with an attorney before anything is added here:

• Marketing email compliance (CAN-SPAM) requires a valid physical postal address in commercial email. A P.O. box or registered-agent/virtual business address satisfies this.
• Formal legal notice or service-of-process provisions in the Terms of Use, if a notice address is used instead of email.
• App store listings, payment processing, or advertising account verification, which may require an address to the platform (not necessarily published on this site).
• Naming an EU/UK representative or similar statutory contact, if the service is later offered to those regions.
